Let me be with you
Let me sit beside you for a while,
Walk with me, I’ll walk with you for a mile.
Say it out loud, I’m all ears for you,
Tell me what’s going on, I’ll help you through.
You can hold my hand and share your fear,
Talk to me just like you talk to yourself, my dear.
Don’t doubt me, my friend, I understand that you feel so empty and hollow,
Unlike the vicious world that gave you grief and sorrow.
You’ll always have my hand to hold, you’ll always have my back and support,
I’ll be your partner for life, don’t be scared to step up, I’ll be your escort.
I am always there, inseparably with you,
Close your eyes and listen—who are you hearing, too?
If you look for me around, I’m the shadow you see on the ground,
If you try to feel me, I’m the brain, mind, heart, and soul your body surrounds.

Here are the poetic devices used in your poem:
1. Rhyme Scheme: The poem follows a consistent rhyme scheme, creating a rhythmic flow. For example:
- "while" / "mile"
- "fear" / "dear"
- "hollow" / "sorrow"
- "support" / "escort"
2. Repetition: Certain phrases and ideas are repeated for emphasis, such as:
- "You’ll always have my hand to hold"
- "I’ll be your partner for life"
- "I am always there"
3. Parallelism: The structure of some lines mirrors each other, enhancing the rhythm and balance of the poem. For example:
- "Walk with me, I’ll walk with you for a mile."
- "Talk to me just like you talk to yourself, my dear."
4. Alliteration: There are instances of alliteration, where consecutive words begin with the same consonant sound:
- "Close your eyes and listen"
- "Don’t doubt me, my dear friend"
5. Imagery: The poem uses vivid imagery to evoke emotional responses and create mental pictures:
- "I’m the shadow you see on the ground"
- "I’m the brain, mind, heart, and soul your body surrounds"
6. Metaphor: Metaphorical language is used to convey deeper meaning:
- "I’m the shadow you see on the ground" (the speaker represents constant support, like a shadow)
- "I’m the brain, mind, heart, and soul your body surrounds" (the speaker symbolizes an integral part of the listener's being)
7. Personification: Abstract concepts like the "shadow" and "brain, mind, heart, and soul" are personified, given human-like qualities of support and presence.
8. Assonance: The repetition of vowel sounds in nearby words to create internal rhyming within phrases:
- "Say it out loud, I’m all ears for you"
- "Talk to me just like you talk to yourself"
The poem beautifully blends these poetic devices to create a heartfelt and supportive message.
